Store Policy

I get asked all the time how I know what store will honor what coupons and if they price match. I have added stores policy on coupons and price matching that I shop at and post deals about here on this site.

Target Price Matching Policy
Target has a price matching policy which they refer to as a Low Price Promise. I have listed what I feel are the most important points of this policy, but you may view the full policy here.

Applying Coupons to Price Matching
*Target coupons will be applied BEFORE the price match is made. Once the Target Coupon is applied if the price is still lower then the price match will
be made.
*Manufacturer coupons will be applied AFTER the price match is made.

Here is one of the Q/A from their site:
Q: Why is the coupon no longer available to me? OR, why did I get an exceeded limit message?
A: Many of our coupons have print limits – per guest and in total. If/when you exceed those limits, the coupon will no longer appear for you or you may receive a messaging stating “you have exceeded your household limit” or “this coupon is no longer available”.

Q: What if the Target store would not accept my coupons?
A: If a Target Stores didn’t accept your valid printed coupon, please Contact Us.

*Please note that some Target stores are telling customers that they will NOT honor the coupon if the product doesn't "match" the picture on the coupon. Their policy states nothing about this and I would take policy to manager and get approval or I would call customer service if the cashier did not honor my coupon. (An example of this is if the coupon says "$1/1 any Huggies Diapers" and has a picture of Snug and Dry, but does not say Snug and Dry on the coupon...they should honor it for ANY Huggies diaper!)

Walgreens-
Walgreens Official Coupon Policy

Walgreen stores accept a variety of coupons everyday. The coupons fall into two categories:

#1. Walgreens issued coupons and
#2. Manufacturer issued coupons The following are some guidelines for accepting these types of coupons.
We will accept one Walgreen issued coupon and one manufacturer coupon for the same item, unless either coupon prohibits such use. “Walgreens” Roto Ad coupons, IVC (Instant Value Coupon) coupons, and a manufacturer’s coupon can be used towards the purchase of any one item.
Walgreens does not provide cash back if a coupon is presented from more than the purchase value of the item.
Walgreens does not accept coupons from other retailers or coupons for products not carried in our stores. All valid coupons must be presented to the cashier at the time of sale. When purchasing a Buy 1 Get 1 free item, only one coupon can be applied towards the purchase because the customer is only purchasing one item. Customers must purchase one item to get the other item free on all Buy 1 Get 1 free offers.
If a coupon states “good on any size of the product” and does not specifically exclude trail sizes of this product, the coupon can be used to purchase trial sized products.
Internet coupons can be accepted whether they are printed in color or in black and white. Walgreens does not accept expired coupons.
As a company we do not price match. If an item that was purchased with a coupon is returned, we will refund the price paid by the customer.

If an item purchased with a manufacturer’s coupon is returned, the customer will get the retail price of the item. If the customer purchased an item with a Walgreens coupon, the customer receives the price paid.
Example 1: If the retail price for an item is $1.49 and the manufacturers coupon was 25¢ off, the refund amount would be $1.49 plus tax.
Example 2: If the retail price for an item is $1.49 and the Walgreens coupon was 25¢ off, the refund amount would be $1.24 plus tax.

Fresh Market-

Fresh Market-
They do not have a printable coupon policy. However, I did speak with Mark his number is 801-823-1820 if you have any questions.
Here is what he told me when we spoke-

Fresh Market wants to welcome shoppers who use coupons! Fresh Market know that Albertsons ( the store they took over )   had a rewards card and did double coupons on occasion. They are not Albertsons and they do not follow the same policy. Fresh Market will continue to place store coupons in their weekly ads as a way to help us couponers save money.

Fresh Market accepts:
  • Online coupons up to $5.00/1
  • Manufactured Coupons
  • Store Coupon and Manufactured Coupon's together
Fresh Market will not accepts:
  • Free online printable coupons
Fresh Market can refuse any online coupon at anytime.

So from what I got from the phone call was that they will accept Manufactured Coupons and Store Coupons so we can maximize our savings. They will accept the guidelines from the Manufactured Coupons. They will allow us to use online printable unless it is for a free item and not more then $5/1.

I am so glad I got to talk with Mark. He was super friendly and very helpful.
Please note that this is not a writen coupon policy. However Mark assured me that Fresh Market wants couponers business and wants to make it an enjoyable shopping experience!

Price Matching Policy at Walmart
Our goal is always to be the low price leader in every community where we operate. Our customers trust us to have every day low prices ... there's no need for "special sales."
Our unbeatable promise:
Store managers make the final decision in always taking care of our customers, but we do have guidelines for matching our competition.
We do honor "Preferred Shopping Card" advertised prices. Must be like items, be advertised and require a competitor's shopping card, for the discount to apply.
We do not honor advertisements that require a purchase in order to receive the advertised price or free product.
We do not honor "Buy One / Get One Free" advertisements.
We do not honor double or triple coupons or percent off advertisements.
We do not honor other retailers' "Misprinted" advertised prices.
We do not honor Internet Pricing.
We do not honor competitor advertisements from outside of the store's or Club's local trade territory.
