Walgreens has a new corporate coupon policy!

Make sure to print this out and keep it with you when you are shopping at Walgreens.

Guidelines:

General

• All valid coupons should be presented to the cashier at the time of checkout.
• Walgreens does not accept expired coupons.
• Coupons and their face value cannot be exchanged for cash or gift cards.
• Competitor coupons are not accepted at Walgreens.
• Walgreens cannot accept coupons for items not carried in our stores.
• The number of manufacturer coupons, including Register Rewards^TM manufacturer coupons, may not exceed the number of items in the transaction. The total value of the coupons may not exceed the value of the transaction. Sales tax must be paid, if required by state law.
• Any coupon offer not covered in these guidelines will be accepted at the discretion of Walgreens management.

Sale Items 

• Walgreens will accept manufacturer coupons for an item that is on sale.
• In the event that any item's selling price is less than the value of the coupon, Walgreens will only accept the coupon in exchange for the selling price of the item. Coupon redemption can never exceed the selling price of an item and no cash back is ever provided in exchange for any coupons.

Multiple Coupons

• When purchasing a single item, Walgreens accepts one manufacturer coupon and applicable Walgreens coupon(s) for the purchase of a single item, unless prohibited by either coupon offer.
• The coupon amount must be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied. (For example, a $5.00 coupon for a $4.99 item will result in a $4.99 coupon value).
• When purchasing multiple items, Walgreens accepts multiple identical coupons for multiple qualifying items as long as there is sufficient stock to satisfy other customers, unless a limit is specified. Management reserves the right to limit the quantity of items purchased.

Buy One, Get One Free Coupons

• When items are featured in a Buy One, Get One Free promotion, up to two coupons can be used against the items being purchased, as long as the net price does not go below zero for the items being purchased.
• Sales tax must be paid for any Buy One, Get One Free coupon offers, if required by applicable state laws.

Internet/Print at Home Coupons

• Walgreens accepts valid internet/print at home coupons.

Register Rewards^TM coupons

Earning Register Rewards^TM

• Register Rewards^TM will only print for in-stock merchandise during the promotional period.
• Register Rewards^TM can only be earned for eligible items. No substitutions.
• There is a limit of one Register Rewards^TM (RR) printed per offer per customer per transaction.
• Customers redeeming a Register Rewards^TM against the same offer may not receive another RR.

Redeeming Register Rewards^TM

• Customers redeeming a Register Rewards^TM against the same offer may not receive another RR.
• Refer to Register Rewards^TM coupon for expiration date.
• The RR coupon value cannot exceed the total purchase amount. No cash back and no cash value for RR coupon.
• The number of manufacturer coupons, including RR manufacturer coupons, must not exceed the number of items in the transaction.
• Register Rewards^TM must be forfeited if the qualifying merchandise is returned.
• Register Rewards^TM cannot be used toward the purchase of gift cards and pre-paid cards.
• Register Rewards^TM can be redeemed for eligible items only. Ineligible items include but are not limited to:

• Prescriptions
• Tobacco products
• Alcoholic beverages
• Dairy products
• Lottery tickets
• Money orders/transfers

Rite Aid – Coupon Acceptance
To Our Valued Customers:
Rite Aid gladly accepts the following coupon types as detailed in the coupon acceptance guidelines listed below:
COUPON TYPES:
Manufacturer Coupons

• Manufacturer coupons are found in newspapers, magazines and even affixed to products. The UPC on these coupons begins with a “5.”

Rite Aid Manufacturer Coupons

• Rite Aid Manufacturer coupons generally appear in our weekly circular, on our website and are sent to customers via e-mail. These coupons are labeled “manufacturer coupon” and have a UPC that begins with “49.”

Rite Aid Valuable Coupons

• Rite Aid coupons are labeled “variable coupon” and have a UPC that begins with “48.”

Internet/Print at Home coupons

• Rite Aid will accept Internet/ print at home coupons up to The equivalent value of $5.00 off.
• A Rite Aid coupon (with the Rite Aid logo) is NOT considered an Internet coupon (even if printed off the Internet) and is therefore not subject to the $5.00 maximum.

+UP Reward Coupons

• +UP Reward coupons are special coupons earned by a customer in a prior purchase that can be used for any nonprescription purchase with a small number of exclusions that are listed on the +UP coupon. Multiple +UP coupons can be used (subject to the printed exclusions) up to the amount of purchase before sales tax.

Buy One, Get One Free

• We accept two coupons for the purchase of two items that are on Buy One, Get One Free Promotion.
• We accept a Buy One, Get One Free Coupon with an item that is in our flyer as Buy One, Get One Free, meaning both items are free. The cash register will compute any sales tax due, which varies by state law.

Total Purchase Coupons

• Rite Aid may feature total purchase coupons which discount the total purchase amount based upon meeting specific requirements. For example, $5 off a 525 purchase price threshold coupon.
• These coupons are accepted under the Following conditions:
  
  • The coupon is valid and in date: only one total purchase coupon per transaction.
  • Total purchase equals or exceeds $25 before tax (before any coupons are applied).
  • Coupons for individual items can also be used including another “48″ coupon that is tied to an item in the transaction.
  • Provided the total of items purchased is equal to or greater than the purchase requirement, other coupons can be used in conjunction with the total purchase coupon.

ACCEPTANCE GUIDELINES:
General Guidelines:

• Coupons must be valid and in date; Coupons cannot be exchanged for cash.
• Register will validate coupon through scanning or keyed entry of the coupon UPC number.
• In the event that any item’s selling price is less than the value of the coupon, Rite Aid will accept the coupon in exchange for the selling price of the item. Coupon redemption can never exceed the selling price of an item and no cash back is allowed.
• When making a return for a product that had a coupon attached, Rite Aid cannot refund cash for the value of the coupon and cannot return the coupon that was used.
• Rite Aid reserves the right to not accept any coupon where the validity or the coupon cannot be established.

Multiple Coupons

• More than one coupon can be used on the purchase of a single item under the following conditions:
• All coupons match the item being purchased.
• The total of the coupons is equal to or less than the selling price of the item before sales tax.
• No more than one “48″ Rite Aid valuable coupon, one “49″ Rite Aid Manufacturer coupon, and one “5″manufacturer coupon can be used on a single item.
• Rite Aid may accept multiple identical coupons for multiple qualifying items as long as there is sufficient stock to satisfy other customers within the store manager’s sole discretion.

I went to Rite Aid this week and did a couple of transactions to see how the program worked.




The +Up Reward is a lot like Walgreens Register Rewards if you are familiar with that program.


This is from the Rite Aid ad. It shows that if you buy the Trident, Dentyne or Icebreakers Gum you will recieve $1 +Up Reward. 
The + Up Reward is good on your next purchase. 

This reciept shows the +Up Reward. 
$1/$10 or more Seasonal purchase, $1/$10 or more Household purchase, AND the advertised $1 off any non-prescription purchase (note that Cadbury owns Trident gum so this is why the $1 +UP Reward states “from purchase of Cadbury”).

+UP Rewards Guidelines
* The new +UP Reward program is an incentive program that allows manufacturers to provide a +UP Reward to consumers for buying a specific product and/or specific number of products. Every week, different items are advertised in the weekly circular that generate a +UP Reward. (This program is very similar to the Walgreens Register Reward program)

* You MUST give the cashier your Wellness card or the phone # associated with your Wellness card prior to the items being scanned in order to be eligible for the +UP Reward(s) - Sign-up here

* The +UP Reward consists of a coupon or a number of coupons that print at the bottom of your receipt and can be used on your NEXT purchase.

* Each advertised +UP Reward is limited to 1 per transaction. For example, if you purchase 2 bottles of Trident gum in one transaction, you will only receive 1 $1 +UP Reward. So if you are interested in purchasing more than one of the same +UP Reward item, be sure that you purchase each item in a separate transaction.

*Rite Aid does NOT limit or track the number of +UP Rewards items that you purchase. So going back to my example with the Trident gum, I could purchase 20 different bottles of gum throughout the week in 20 different transactions, and each time, I would receive the $1 +UP Reward.

* Unlike Walgreens Register Rewards, you can use a +UP Reward coupon to purchase another of the same item, and you will still receive a +UP Reward (i.e. you can “roll” the +UP Reward coupons). For example, I used the $1 +UP reward coupon from my Trident Gum to purchase another bottle of Trident gum and I still received another $1 +UP Reward coupon!

* According to Rite Aid Customer Service, you CAN use both a $5/$25 Rite Aid purchase AND a $1/$10 Household purchase coupon in the same transaction. However, it is always up to the manager’s discretion to make the final decision.

I did a few transactions and Rite Aid allowed me to use the $5/$25, a manufacture coupon & +Up Reward. 


I like the new Wellness + Reward Program because we can 'roll' the transactions- meaning we can buy one Trident Gum and get the $1 off +Up Reward and then in the next transaction use that $1 +Up Reward  and get another $1 +Up Reward for the next purchase!

I have never had a problem with Rite Aid accepting their coupons.. I know that some have. I am going to print this off and put it in my coupon binder with my Rite Aid Policy just in case :)

The District Manager is mistaken, and I apologize for that. You may combine an In-Ad Coupon with a Video Values Coupon with a Manufacturer Coupon, as the Video Values Coupons are considered 'Rite Aid Coupons'. Therefore, all three coupons can be used towards the purchase of a single item as long as the coupons' redemption amount does not exceed the cost of the item being purchased.

Shopping at Rite Aid and Walgreens

Some of the best deals I get come from Rite Aid & Walgreens! They are great places to shop when you use coupons. Here is some basic information you will need to help you save money at Rite Aid & Walgreens.

Single Check Rebates-

Each week, Rite Aid offers discounts on certain items via Single Check Rebates (abbreviated SCR.) This rebate program is quite possibly the easiest out there as you don't have to mail anything in. Simply go here and create an account.

You can use coupons and it will not lower your rebate amount.

LIMIT ONE (1) $25.00 REBATE

You can see what rebates are offered online here, as well as in the weekly ad. Most rebate offers are only valid for 1 week, beginning on Sunday and ending the following Saturday. There is most often also a limit of 1 SCR submitted for a certain item. However, there has been the random rebate that lasts all month and has a limit of 3 or 4, so keep an eye on the fine print!

After you shop, come home, sign in here and click, "Enter Receipt." You'll be prompted to enter 4 pieces of information from your receipt: the store number, transaction number, register number and date. After that, your rebate information will take 2-3 days to process, then it will be available online for you to view. Rite Aid will send you email updates regarding the status of your receipt information.

Rebates come in the form of a check that can be either used at Rite Aid, or deposited into your bank account like any other check! Rite Aid will only send out 1 rebate check per rebate period, which usually last about a month. If you shop there weekly, you'll enter your receipts each week, then after the rebate period ends, you can request your check online by clicking the "Request check" button. If you enter your receipts and forget to request your check, Rite Aid will automatically send it to you after 2 months. Just don't forget to enter your receipt information!

Store Coupons-

Rite Aid generally has a number of store coupons available that can be combined with manufacturers coupons. 

Maximizing your Savings -

There are a couple of ways to maximize your savings at Rite Aid. Their normal prices are quite inflated, so just stick to purchasing Single Check Rebate items. If there is a rebate available all month for a certain product, instead of rushing out to buy it, wait for a sale! Most often there are also coupons available for these items. By combining all three  the sale, rebate and coupon, you can almost always get items for Free each week!

Rainchecks-

Rainchecks will be honored for all rebate offers during any promotional rebate period. Rainchecks must be used within 30 days of issuance to purchase the product on rebate and qualify for the rebate.Your receipt must state “Raincheck” under the participating rebate product item to qualify for rebate.

Walgreens offers a month long coupon book that can be found in the front of the store. 
You can use Walgreens coupons and manufactures coupons for the same item.

Register Reward Program (RR)-

You will find the items in the weekly sale ad flier that print Register Rewards (RR) when you purchase them. RR’s are the equivalent of in store cash. You may use them on your next purchase. However, you can’t roll them over and over with numerous transactions of the same product. So if you are buying five toothbrushes that give you RR's, you will have to do five different transaction but you can not use the RR from the first transaction to pay for the second one. 

The cash register is wired so that it will not take more coupons than you have items for. If you have three items in one transaction, you may only use three coupons. The register counts a RR as one coupon. So...., if you have three items, three coupons and a RR, you’ll need to grab a “filler item” (for me it’s usually a pack of gum or another cheap item) or you’ll completely screw up the transaction.

Now, when you pay, use RR’s first, then in store coupons, then manufacturer coupons. Hand them to the cashier in that order because, most likely, the cashier will not know there is a specific order to ring them.
